Venkataramana, an honest and principled police officer, remains steadfast in his refusal to accept bribes, determined to make a difference and help other orphans like himself. Unfortunately, his friend, a fellow cop, takes advantage of his position, exploiting every opportunity to make money by issuing fines to pedestrians for minor infractions. Venkataramana’s wife, Bhanumathi, yearns for a luxurious lifestyle and constantly berates him for his inability to fulfill her extravagant desires, leading to a strained relationship devoid of intimacy. In a desperate attempt to please his wife, Venkataramana buys her a lottery ticket but finds himself unable to pay a restaurant bill, resulting in a promise to share half of the prize money with Dharani, a waitress at the establishment. Miraculously, Venkataramana wins 100 million in the lottery and fulfills his promise by giving 50 million to Dharani. However, Bhanumathi, plagued by suspicion and fueled by media speculation, accuses her husband of infidelity and files for divorce, claiming the entire prize money. Trapped in a legal battle, Venkataramana loses the case and is left destitute, while the ultimate destiny of the divorced couple and Dharani unfolds in the climactic conclusion.
